Here at Extraction Oil & Gas, we believe that the definition of a successful company is one that operates responsibly and sustainably. We also believe it is our responsibility to be a good neighbor and an engaged corporate citizen everywhere we operate. After all, we live and work here, too.
In order to fulfill this responsibility, we operate with the utmost safety at all times, often going above and beyond state and federal regulations. To accomplish that, we tirelessly search for solutions that will reduce impact on the communities where we operate. Much of our success is due to the relationships we continue to foster with local governments, nonprofit groups and landowners in those areas. Transparency and accessibility are qualities we greatly value at Extraction Oil & Gas since we are a part of these communities, too.
Extraction has invested more than $3 million in community initiatives across the Denver-Julesburg Basin and has developed 65 partnerships with charitable and community organizations. For example, Extraction created the “Sacking Hunger” campaign with the Denver Broncos, which raises an average of $50,000 per year for the Weld Food Bank in support of their effort to fight local hunger — an epidemic that affects 1 in 4 children and 1 in 6 adults in Weld County.
In addition, Extraction recently donated $25,500 to the Weld Food Bank to sponsor a mobile food pantry that delivers fresh produce, dairy products, meat and dry goods to underserved neighborhoods and schools. Last year alone, the local mobile food pantry served 125 families more than 15,000 pounds of food at Salida Del Sol Academy. We also sponsor the Food Bank’s Children’s Backpack Program, an organization that provides 100 children with a bag of fresh, nutritious food each weekend of the academic year.
We proudly support a wide variety of deserving causes within our communities, including The United Way, the Child Abuse and Neglect Charity, Stargate School, Ducks Unlimited, Colorado State University, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Greeley Chamber of Commerce, the Windsor Chamber of Commerce, Bulls on the Beach and many more.
We also recently donated $50,000 to the United Way of Weld County. This money helps support A Kid’s Place, an agency providing legal advocacy for children who are victims of abuse. Additionally, the funds support recreation programs in the communities of Erie and Windsor.
The company doesn’t just write checks — Extraction employees generously volunteer their time and effort to make our communities stronger. To better serve the community, Extraction established “Extraction in Action,” a program that helps organize and promote community involvement opportunities among our employees.
At Extraction Oil & Gas, we support these critical local causes because they’re our local causes, too. That is why we eagerly assist communities inside and out of our immediate operating areas. Just like you, we strive to be active, positive and contributing members of the communities in which we live and work.
